Sophisticated construction is apparent in the new City North Hotel located just off the M1 at Gormanstown, County Meath, north of Dublin and the city’s airport. The striking contemporary exterior is enhanced by the use of contrasting materials and finishes, including a visually appealing fascia soffit system supplied by market leaders Alumasc.
The solution specified for the City North Hotel is the Alumasc Skyline fascia and soffit system manufactured in polyester powder coated aluminium. The system offers a range of options to suit any application. The soffit and fascia range offers different generic shapes which can be used as a straight forward projection from the building’s elevation or carried further out as an eaves overhang. Technical support is available from Alumasc’s own team, who will advise on design, fixing and mounting preferences and overall suitability for purpose. Bespoke profile options to client’s own requirements are also offered, as well as fully engineered pre-finished units, presenting opportunities for architecturally innovative detail.
As part of a comprehensive suite of complementary products, Skyline is designed to work in conjunction with Alumasc’s GX range of aluminium gutters, offering a proven package of integrated eaves and roof drainage solutions. The products are manufactured in the company’s own dedicated UK plant and are installed only by Alumasc approved contractors.
Skyline is available in any standard RAL colour in Alumasc’s Raincote weather-resistant polyester powder coated finish, offering a virtually maintenance-free installation for the lifetime of the building.
Skyline was specified for the City North project because of its cost-effectiveness and the technical support offered. Alumasc’s flexible approach and ability to accommodate client requirements were also well represented throughout the construction process.
The project architects were H. J. Lyons of Dublin and the main contractor, Sammon Contracting, Kildare.
